Our 2023 Charity Partnership with HURT

Introducing our 2023 Charity Partner

HURT (have your tomorrows) is our official Charity of the Year for 2023. We are delighted to be working in partnership with this local voluntary organisation to support their vital services in Derry/Londonderry.

The HURT (Have your tomorrows) charity provides an important facility and fundamental service in the North West area, supporting individuals and families who have been impacted by drug, alcohol addiction and mental health problems.  Their unique drop-in centre offers a range of essential services, delivering a holistic approach to addiction recovery and family support.

Services to clients include; Counselling, Auricular Acupuncture, Listening Ear service and Complementary therapies in the form of reflexology and massage. Other services include educational and employment based support, as well as Art & Craft therapies and training opportunities.

The holistic care programme combines Counselling with Complimentary Therapies to improve physical health and emotional well-being whilst reaching recovery from addiction. The continual increase in client numbers and demand for their programmes reflects the need for their specialist services across the North West.

As our designated charity partner, the Find Insurance NI team will participate in a number of events and activities throughout the year to raise vital funds. Stay tuned for further details shared on this page.

Every year Find Insurance NI raises money for a different local charity and has embraced previous partnerships with worthy causes such as Children in Crossfire and the Foyle Search & Rescue.

HURT was founded by local woman Sadie O’Reilly after the tragic death of her only son in 1999 as a result of an accidental heroin overdose. Because of the heartache that Sadie and her family experienced at this difficult time, Sadie’s conquest was to provide support to drug and alcohol users and their families. Her passion, determination and ambition resulted in the founding of HURT and subsequently HURT has been dedicated to the memory of Tony.

The charity now employs 15 staff, with a further 7 sessional workers providing counselling and therapeutic interventions.
